I have spent the last 28 years leading and influencing people. First as an Officer in the United States Army, then as a leader in the Health Technology space. Recognized for my high energy, thought leadership, professional expertise and influential capabilities, I have served as keynote and guest speaker, guest lecturer and adjunct professor at various conference, university and college venues.
As a CIO, I have delivered a wide array of competitive advantage solutions to Hill Country Memorial Hospital, and previously to St. David’s HealthCare and HCA’s Central and West Texas Division. One of my more recent accomplishments was my team leadership role in earning the 2014 Malcolm Baldrige Quality Award for St. David’s HealthCare.
My experience over the years has focused mostly on leadership. My various leadership roles, starting in the United States Army, have allowed me to experience a variety of industries, organizations and roles. This has provided me with some excellent opportunities to hone my skills in:
- Strategic/Tactical Planning & Execution
- Business Solutions Inception, Design & Delivery
- Project Management Office Delivery & Support
- Business Process Workflow & Engineering
- Stakeholder Relations & Negotiations
- Professional Development
- Fiscal Accountability
- Coaching and Mentoring
In a volunteer capacity, I founded and serve as the president of the non-profit Path of Hope Foundation, Inc., that focuses on providing education to impoverished girls in Central America. The Path of Hope Foundation has a direct, and daily, influence on the lives of these girls and increases their chances for a strong future. Education provides opportunities for jobs, enhances the ability to make good life decisions and ultimately improves the communities in which the girls live.
An avid outdoorsman (fly fishing especially), I have been married for 26 years to D’Lanna Mason, Ed.D. and together we have two wonderful girls.
